Connie
Chadwell (Austin,
TX)
The
infinite variety of the face and figure provide Connie with an endless
source of inspiration for her artwork. Whether drawing from the posed
model, from people going about theirdaily lives, or from memory, she
strives to capture the expressiveness of the human form.
Connie
studied at the Art League School in Alexandria, Virginia, for three
years, with a concentration in drawing and painting the figure. She
also took courses at The Washington Studio School, as well as art
workshops at the Smithsonian Institution.
Since
returning from the Washington, D.C. area to her native Texas, Connie
has taken workshops with Doug Dawson, Kim English, Miles Mathis, and
Perrin Sparks. She also studies in the Master of Art Education program
at Texas Tech University. Connie has a B.A. from The University of
Texas at Austin.
One
of her drawings from life will be included in the upcoming North Light
book: Strokes of Genius: The Best of Drawing.
Connie's
award-winning works are regularly exhibited in juried regional and
national shows and are in many private collections.
