Zancea
immigrated from the Philippines to the U.S. in 1973 and settled in
Texas in 1985. While in Houston, she took some classes in jewelry
fabrication at U of H. Before she moved to Austin in 2002,
she became interested in wire wrapping, but didn’t satisfy her
creative impulse. In the early part of 2003 she taught herself wire-sculpture
through books and tapes. She finally found a work she loves and enjoys-
